This work draws inspiration from the warm, dust-pink tones and sculptural forms of canyon landscapes, evoking the atmosphere of a cave. In Scripture, caves often mark transitional spaces between fear and courage, death and life, silence and revelation. They suggest that the deepest work often takes place in hidden places before we are brought back into the light.

Caves can be places of refuge and testing, encounters with the sacred, symbols of both death and new life, and spaces that reveal the contrast between hiding in fear and finding true shelter. While caves are usually associated with darkness and cold, this piece carries a sense of warmth, suggesting a place of covering and protection that reflects the heart of the divine.
